Happy, happy, happy Friday. Coming to you a little bit later than I would like, it's time is of the essence, my friends, when it comes to this last 90 days before baby, oh my gosh, there's so much going on. I'm not even gonna lie. There's so many and I can only drink so much coffee in a day by my doctor's recommendations. So, I mean, you probably should only have a certain amount of coffee in a day anyways. But like, obviously, I need to be very mindful because I'm growing a human. But coming to you as a afternoon, pick me up here, I have lots of podcasts ready to go for maternity leave, that was like my top priority to like, bulk create and repurpose podcasts. But in the meantime, it's kind of like flying by the seat of my pants, and I'm just being honest. But I wanted to chat with you of how to get your kids more involved in your business, I actually don't hide my business for my daughter. I will be working on maternity leave, growing my company. And it's all like it is all by choice. And it won't be like I'm working like 40 hours a week. But I'm growing a company, right? Like, we get to be realistic as women like, it bothered me when I had Emma when people were like, Why are you doing things like spend time with your baby, I'm like, you don't even know me like you don't, you don't know what I want. You don't know what I need, like, all the things so. And the beautiful part about my business is there, especially during maternity leave, I'm designing it where there won't be really anything I have to be on for at a very specific time. I'm automating so much. But I will still be doing things like I'll check in with our inner circle, I'll check in with our team, I'll be working on the back end of my business, you know, there still will be things to do. And I'm more than okay to do that. And honestly, I love my business and it makes me feel alive. And so when I'm, you know, raising a baby, it is nice to do something that is like, not just being a mom, like and I say that in the most loving way. But like it just helps me feel alive and helps me feel connected to other people and not feel alone in that. I wake up. I take care of a baby. I sleep but I can write and then I go back to bed. Like that's some people like that. Right? Right, like so I think your maternity leave, personally should be what you want it to be every day of your business, right? Like, should be what you want it to be like, if you want to work at midnight work at fucking midnight, if you want to work at 5am work at fucking 9am. Like stop letting people tell you when you should work. And when you shouldn't work. Like it just annoys the crap out of me like, and they just don't know your goals. They don't know your lifestyle. They don't know, anything. And so I'm just over people putting their own insecurities or expectations or anything on other people like, so I'm already prepared for those type of comments. And I will be probably a little spicy coming back to people like oh, no, this is my choice. I want to do this. And it feels really good. Thanks. Thanks for trying to tell me what to do. Anyway, so how to get your kids involved. So I don't hide my work from my children. And it's so cute. Like, I'll come down because I have now a home office. I'll come down from like a call and she'll be like, all done with call and I'm like, yep, baby, although with the call. And she's like, Yay, right. And sometimes she's in my Facebook Lives. And sometimes I have my laptop up and she's like playing Barbies. And like, don't get me wrong, we have a ton of fun. That's on an uninterrupted so it's not like I'm not being present as a mother. But there are times that I will need to be, you know, quote unquote, on on call and be doing things and so and I don't I don't feel bad about it. I used to and I let that shit go. So there's that. But I think it's important. And so you have to first decide what is important to you. Right? Like, do you want like a clear cut where they're not involved? And that's okay too, right? Like, but do it because you want to do it that way. If you do want them more involved, like there's actually a lot of tax benefits as well. You can even hire your kids to a certain like salary cap. So there's lots of like tax benefits, which is great. And then I think also just like educational benefits like as like a There's only five right now. So she understands to an extent, but like, I'm excited, like, we've decided, like once she's like, probably around eight years old, she can come to Disney when I take inner circle to Disney, like, and I want her sitting in the back row, even if she still has an iPad or something, but like just to be around other entrepreneurs and seeing what I'm doing. And, you know, I want to eventually have a Kids program. And she, she helps run it right, like, so. I think there's ways depending on the nature of your business, like what you can do, like my husband, they have a family business, and it's welding and machining and so that it's a little tricky for her to go to be involved. But like she has gone there, when I've been in a pinch, and she'll sit in his office, right? She'll go around the shop and say hi to everyone. And so like, even just little things like that, I think can make a world of a difference for your kids. So they can one see what you do, but also learn right? Like, oh, my gosh, I can actually own my own business. Because then they don't know anything different. Right? Like, I grew up, not in a wealthy family. So I didn't know anything differently. So like, you could argue the same could be true. The other way around, right? So it's just exciting to really think through, like, what do you want. So this was just like me coming in saying, Hi, happy weekend, and really like reminding you to decide, like, what do you want, like when it comes to your children? And getting them involved? Like, what do you really, really want. Because I think that's really important. And then getting them involved in different things. So that way, it's by design, it's by choice. I think even talking to them about what you do and the decisions that you're making. So even getting them involved in your finances. So even if it's not specifically your business can just be so freakin powerful. Like Emma already has a savings account will eventually as she gets older start to show her that I want her to learn, like we already invest in stocks, I will, I want her to see that. So like even beyond my business, and my husband's business, like I want her seeing the money, because my parents hit it so much. And so like, it's just so foreign to me. And like, when she gets money, I want to help her decide, like, okay, let's put some of that in your savings, let's go give some money. And let's go shopping, right? Like we get to do all of it, and just start to show her all of that. So that's kind of like an added bonus that I would really challenge you to do, of just getting your kids involved in those conversations, normalizing them and not pretending to hide it. And, you know, if you're going through, like tough times financially, I think there's ways to authentically still share that in a trauma free way with your children. And show them you know, going through hard times and what you're doing to make strides and you know, you obviously don't want to like, scare them and make them feel unsafe. But like I think there are very helpful ways, even if it's like maybe you get through it, and then you talk about it with them like, hey, you know, we just got through a tough time. And this is what we did. And, you know, I just want you to know, like, we always will make sure you have food on the table and a roof over your head. And we're really in a good space right now. And we're excited moving forward. And here's like our goals and our dreams, right? Like, just normalizing all of this. I feel like I just grew up. So hush hush of like, like, oh my gosh, right, like nothing was really talked about. And I would ask questions, because I was curious. And they were just shut down. And so now I'm undoing a lot of that and like rewiring my brain, and all the things so get your kids involved in your business in a way that feels good to you. And get them involved in financial conversations. Because it makes it so normal, and then they won't know anything differently. And so like, the younger you can start, the better in my humble opinion. So have a fabulous weekend, I just want to get your brain turning your wheels turning and make those strides because that's creating general generational wealth. It's not just the money in the account, right or accounts. It's also the conversations and the energy around money. And so I think it just makes a world of a difference. The younger you can start with your kids and it's never too late either. So if you have older kids, right, like it's never too late either. So this is this is a podcast episode for all and we can always do better. That's the cool part about money. Everyone makes fucking money mistakes. Let that shit go. Okay, own it, heal from it and let's move forward and get people get the conversation going more. We get to be talking about these things. And that's why I'm so excited to host wealth con coming up, because I want these conversations more of I'm more transparent and equally more accessible to more people because that's how we create generational wealth for all right no matter where you're at in your business, no matter where you're at in your financial journey, we get to help support each other and even the financial playing field and that's, that's what I want to be a part of it like i My heart skipping a beat right now because like, that's what I want to be known for and what I want wealthy Queen movement to be known for, and we're doing it for making it happen. So hopefully, I'll see you at Worldcon. I love you have a great weekend and I'll see you back next week.
