September is renamed sexy September. Oh, doesn't that just sound good. That was my sexy voice sexy, September. So this podcast episode is is called How to make sales sexy again, I like blanked for a second. That's what pregnancy brain will do to you how to make sales sexy again. So the first step in this, there's so many steps, but we'll pick out a few. Please, for the love of God, stop doing all the shit you don't want to do. Stop selling shit that you don't love. Stop marketing the way you don't love to market, doing like even admin tasks that you don't love to do. Life tasks that you don't love to do, like, if your life is consumed with blah, guess what you are not going to feel excited to want to sell want to sell anything. So we've got to get rid of as much of the law as possible. So that way we can make room for falling in love with sales, because it is 100 100% possible. No one comes out of the womb being like, oh my gosh, I'm the best sales Queen ever. Right? It is a skill, which is great. Because if you feel like you suck at it, it doesn't have to be a forever thing. And if you feel like you're like kind of good at it, then we can get better. And if you're really, really good, then let's just get even better, right. And so I love the saying your business cannot outgrow you. So I really agree with that in the regards of like, your sales are really a reflection of your growth. And it's not to tie to your worth. But it is to tie to like, oh my gosh, I'm growing and growing and growing. And guess what so is my revenue. And it's never in the amount of time that we are wanting it to be like I added up all my revenue from the time I started with my seven figure coach, and it's over a million dollars. And so that's pretty cool. But it's a lag effect, right? Like it's never instant. I've got people on payment plans. I am planting seeds. I just had a high like three about three months ago, I had a high level client. They were like oh my gosh, we like you've been on our list we really want to work with you. Now is the perfect time type of thing. And I've known them for years, right? So it's never in our timing. So I like to call the lag effect because we live in such a fast pace. Gotta have it now. Amazon two day shipping, fast food type of world that we expect ourselves to be the same thing. So we got to also let go that it's not always going to be an instant gratification. We want to see results. We want to see some results quickly. Don't get me wrong. I don't want you to go six months in business and make no money. But you just have to understand that not everyone is going to say yes. The minute you put out a post the minute you send them a DM the minute you You have a sales call and then it you send an email, right? There will absolutely be those early adopters, those people that have, you know, a pain point so strong that they're like, oh my gosh, I've been looking for you, right, maybe even people that hunt you down or hear about you through the grapevine. So there will absolutely be beautiful, beautiful miracles that happen. They're just not all going to happen at once. They're going to be like this trickle effect, which is really cool. Because we also don't necessarily want them all to happen at the same time anyways, because I don't know about you, but in the season of life that I am in, there's no way that I could handle 1000 People in inner circle right now, like, that doesn't even feel good to me. So I'm not manifesting it, I'm not attracting it, because it doesn't align with what I desire. So we really, it's cool, because I'm learning so much about energy work recently. And like, we are an energetic match for anything that we set our mind to. And it doesn't happen immediately. But like, if you want 10k months, and you start working towards 10k months, eventually, you are going to become an energetic match for 10k months. And again, we're gonna grow until we get it. So my next piece of advice is we absolutely get to have a sales target, like what is that like big sales target you would love per month? Is it $10,000 month? Is it $80,000 months? Is it$1,000 month, I was on a one on one call with one of my favorite clients today. And she's like, my business is paying the bills, and like paying her business expenses, and it's paying her mortgage, and I like literally dropped my jaw and I was like, you know how big of a deal that is like, not only are you covering your business expenses, and you're paying your freaking mortgage, like, what a freaking blessing, and she's married, so then her husband can help with the other, you know, life expenses. So like this is the beauty of building an E Learning Empire is that like, that's a big freaking blessing to know that like, your E learning business is taking care of your freakin mortgage, like and then some because it's paying the business expenses on top of that. And then there's only going to be room for more, right, like the only way to go is up. I was even thinking the other day like my whole goal. Five years ago, when I transitioned out of the nonprofit organization and started my own e learning business was to have more time to be able to be mom, right? Like, every day when my daughter gets home because my husband picks her up because I dropped her off. She runs into my home office and I'm done for the day like I literally have engineered my schedule to be done when she gets home. And like I was able to run her to dance tonight. And we have so much quality time together this past summer. So much quality time, there's no way in my old lifestyle was able to do that. And so I've already won, like, I had to take a step back because my mentor was talking about this the other day. And like it was just this huge paradigm shift. Because, yeah, do I still have huge business goals? On my heart that I know I'm capable of that I know I'm worthy of that? I will accomplish at some point? Yeah, but I've already won. Like my why of starting this business was to have more time freedom, I feel way less stressed. Having baby number two because like there's been so much foundation laid these last five years like I've got a clearer understanding of who I am as a human, which is critical. I've done a lot of mindset work. I also have a strong position in the marketplace. I've got several, like amazing clients, tons of amazing clients, and tons of people that are interested in working with us. I've got passive products galore. Content galore like I have everything that I need to get to the next level. And I will like it's just exciting. And so we get to like take a step back of like, yes, I want you to have a sales target. But like, no matter where you're at in your business, you've already accomplished something really big. And we get to like, sit with that and relish in that and acknowledge that and feel like all the gratitude, because it's only going to create more of that, right? Like attracts like. So we want to make sure that we like have some gratitude here. So we're getting rid of the shit that we don't want to do whether regardless of what it is, but like I want you to make a shortlist of all the things you don't want to do anymore and put it in order of importance. Because that's a big deal. So we're going to, like, slowly take it away. There's tons of ways to automate. There's tons of ways that are super inexpensive. Like, I just got the bill from last week for our house cleaner, and it was $75, y'all 75 fucking dollars. And she did things for me, she ran an errand for me. Like, she saved me so much time and energy. I can cut like something from my budget for $75. Right? Like the where there's a will there's a way always so which brings me to my next point, we get to we get to we get to work on your sales mindset. I was thinking today, like Soul work, leads to more sales, you can only do it because you want more sales, because then it's kind of empty. But it's going to be a great byproduct, a great happy accident, if you will not really an accident, but it's a great bonus, let's say that it's a great bonus, the more soul work that you do, the more sales will skyrocket. Hands down. It's not talked about enough in the online space. You know, it's always strategy, strategy strategy. But really like, no matter who you are, there's some work to do, right? There's some confidence gaps, there is some trauma probably, there is some maybe even knowledge gaps like you know, who is your ideal person, that's a little bit more more strategy work, but still like in like, the more you find yourself, you then you can really understand who you're meant to be here for. And so that's all like the softer stuff, but it like the soul work. Apps, a frigging Loli leads to more sales, like it really, really does. And again, lag effect, it's not going to be immediate. It's not like you have the therapy session, the next day, you're going to be a millionaire. And again, we can't only do it because of that reason, but happy, beautiful additional bonus to all of the the work and all the happiness like even a year ago, my life felt so different than it does and really nothing huge changed on the outside a few big things, but not anything extravagant. But I did. I've been doing so much internal work so much clearing so much making room for more. And I have no doubt I will be an energetic match for more revenue very soon. Because I also know that there's a lag effect. So the more I continue to trust the process, work on my mindset, continue the soul work apps, a freaking Lully add in the strategy. It's all connected. It's all important. We just I don't think we talked about the mindset as being as important as I would like for people to talk about it. So I tried to hide it in like veggies. You're getting your veggies with me all the time because we need more veggies in our life, right? I know I do. So I want you to feel so good. And my last tip for you is to really focus on you. We talked about the internal but like also the external like, do you want to go get some lashes? Do you want to go get a new lip color? Do you want to know getting a new like wardrobe, even a few new outfits, I can notice a huge difference in my mood and my energy. And when I have something I love to wear that I feel really, really good. And so you don't have to go overboard. But just even the small tweaks can be massive for your mood, be massive for your energy. And just kind of like think about it like a first date like you go out of your way on a first date to feel good right to like if you don't want to use the word sexy like to feel good to feel attractive, right to put your best face forward, quite literally. Right? So the same is true in sales. Like you don't have to wear anything designer. But feeling good is the most attractive freaking thing when it comes to sales. I even think back to my early years when I didn't even know I was like good at what I did. Because I was just being me and like talking about like our nonprofit. I booked all of these meetings like back to back to back at Starbucks. I've put on a cute outfit. And I was just like excited to get to know people like super super interested in them. And it wasn't like oh, you know, I hope they become a really big donor for us. It was just, I knew it was what I did know was the more I'm out in the community, the more I'm connecting. This will all take care of itself. And people will be excited to want to work with us and get involved just because they learn a little bit more about What we do, and they can ask questions, and it can be really truly like, relationship building. And that's what happened. Like, I would literally be in these like Starbucks meetings. And people would be like, oh, yeah, sure, I'll do $1,000 table sponsorship, I'll do that I'll donate to Christmas, like, Consider it done. And I just was always blown away, that these meetings like turned into so much for the organization, that the team would literally like, kick me out, they would kick me out of the office or like, go, go, go, go make more appointments, right, like connect with people follow up with people, because they also sell it. And again, it wasn't always instant, and not every single meeting turned into something. That's not how sales works, no matter what you're selling, even from nonprofit, to product to digital products, etc, to service base work. So the more we can really, internally work on you externally work on you, then we add in the strategy, which brings me to my last piece, you must know the critical number in your business that drives the most amount of sales. Is it speaking engagements for you? Is it sending emails to your list? Is it sales calls? What is it in your business that when you do it, it makes you a lot of money. Again, even if it's not instant, but you you should be able to pinpoint, every time I do this, I make more money, which means when we do it more, then nine times out of 10 we can make more money, we may have to like drive more leads, we may have to, you know, tweak and modify it but like there's already some data there that we get to play with and like, really start measuring your results. Because when we do that consistently, we're gonna get so fucking good at it. Right? And be able to really make it this like well oiled predictable machine for you. That that makes it sexy when you know, if I send two emails a week, I make an additional$2,000 On average, you're gonna be like so tickled to death to send more emails, right. So like, I really want you to take some time to work through that. So I'm excited for you. I know I talked your ear off today. But we'd love to chat with you.
